Ried im Innkreis, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The western Vormarkt, through which the main post road led from Munich via the Braunauer Tor into the market and, from 1857, into the town of Ried, was the centre of linen weaving in Ried until the 18th century.

The linen weavers' guild was once the most important guild in Ried.
In the 16th century, 900 people earned their living from this flourishing craft. The name "Weberzeile" is already used in an engraving by Franz Xaver Fux from 1790 and gives the street its name again today. Numerous weavers actually lived and worked in the western Vormarkt. Along Weberzeile and Rainerstraße, as well as in Ried's historic squares, the "Interwoven" themed trail invites you to immerse yourself in the history of linen weaving in Ried.
10 stations provide information about living and working conditions and the historical significance of linen weaving.
