A Warm Welcome to Schatzdorfer House! The house of birth and death of Hans Schatzdorfer (1897-1969), vernacular poet and violinmaker, is preserved in its original state. It is open for visits and shall be a constant reminder of this important Upper Austrian poet.
Großpiesenham is a famous name in German history of literature. This is because Franz Stelzhamer, the most important representative of Upper Austrian vernacular literature, was born here in 1802. Stelzhamer wrote the words of the Upper Austrian anthem.
