Ried im Innkreis, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The former Gothic town hall was completely remodelled in 1653, when the façade was decorated with pictures and sayings from the founding saga.
It housed a "bread vault", in which the local bakers were allowed to take turns selling their bread, and a public "weighing vault". The "Bürgerstübl" became a "decent civilian restaurant" in 1791. In 1893, the building was given a romantic character, of which only a few details (tower, portal) remain today. The council chamber with the mayor's gallery and imperial portraits (Maria Theresa, Joseph II, Franz Joseph I), which refer to the historical events of 1779 (Peace of Teschen - the Innviertel becomes part of Austria) and 1857 (town elevation), have been preserved.
