Obernberg am Inn

The thousand-year-old jewel on the banks of the Inn
It’s not just its location on a terraced slope on the banks of the green Inn river that makes Obernberg special: here, people live off and with nature.
Several attractions await you in this picturesque village, such as the castle complex with its falconry and historic garden; the neighbouring former grain storage building is now used to display art.
The market square is rightly considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in the whole of Austria. Particularly magnificent buildings include the “Woerndlehaus”, the “Apothekerhaus” (apothecary house) and the “Schiffmeisterhaus” (“ship master’s house”), which feature stucco work by Johann Baptist Modler (1697 to 1774). Obernberg is also home to the only communion church in Austria. The horse market in March is also a good opportunity for a get-together.
