Ried Gymnastics Club is a regional, politically independent and socially open club.
Modern gymnastics in its various forms is becoming increasingly important as a health sport and in medical prevention. In the interests of public health, the ÖTB cultivates a wide range of physical exercises, from mass gymnastics and an extensive programme of courses to peak performance that is justifiable in terms of health. It also promotes customs and artistic inclinations.
Our gymnastics programme is designed to give people health, balance and joie de vivre in a body-mind-soul unit. The World Health Organisation (WHO) also defines the term "health" not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as mental, emotional and social well-being. According to internationally recognised sports physicians, gymnastics is the best sporting preparation for life because the basic motor skills - endurance, strength, flexibility and dexterity - are best combined in gymnastics.
This is the most important foundation for children, regardless of what kind of sport they want to do later on, and is an extremely important factor in counteracting the lack of exercise in children today. Today, gymnastics is generally understood to mean "doing sport" or "organised exercise". It develops conditional and coordinative abilities and skills.
