Fantastic view
The observation tower Moldaublick on the small hill on the Sulzberg (1041 m) offers a beautiful view of the Vltava reservoir (Czech Republic) - one of the largest reservoirs in Europe - and the birthplace of Adalbert Stifter in Oberplan. The majority of the Czech territory visible from here was populated by the German-speaking population until the end of the Second World War. Afterwards, the Sudeten Germans were resettled from their homeland. The small hill on the Sulzberg offers the expellees a beautiful view of their former homeland. As the trees grew taller and taller and visibility became poorer and poorer, the market town of Ulrichsberg decided to erect a viewing tower. The tower, an old oil derrick from Gänserndorf, has a height of 24 m and 137 steps and was erected in 1967.You can also visit us on

An asphalt access road leads directly to the parking lot in front of the snack station and the Moldaublick viewing tower.
