The parish of Kirchheim:Our parish was run as a branch of the parish of Gurten from 1488 to 1786. In 1786, under Emperor Joseph II, Kirchheim was elevated to an independent parish under the new parish regulations.
Our church: The church dates back to the 14th century and was built in the Gothic style as a single-nave wide hall with ribbed vaulting. In 1763, the presbytery and St Mary's Chapel were baroqueised. In 1941, the neo-Gothic high altar was replaced by a beautiful new Baroque altar. The church is dedicated to St Nicholas. In 1989 and 1990, the church was renovated and an extension was added. The special feature of the renovation is the central gallery. The organ was built in 1887 by organ builder Muracher from Salzburg with 12 stops.
Our parish priest: Father Tadeusz Kondrowski has led our parish since 1986. A few years ago he also took over the leadership of our neighbouring parish of Polling and since September 2006 he has also been in charge of the parish of Wippenham.
