Wildenau Castle is very old and is one of the oldest castles in the Innviertel. After a fire in 1880, Wildenau was demolished except for a modest remnant, as it looks today.
Only the eastern part of the palace, which was situated on an island in a square pond with a square tower that shielded the entrance via a movable bridge, and the three-storey palace with two attached side wings that enclosed an inner courtyard, still stands. Only a small pond remains of the pond.
The beautiful moated castle once had three towers and was surrounded by gardens embellished with fountains. The chapel, which was moved from the first floor to the ground floor in 1875, has been preserved. Today it is the local church of Wildenau and houses three relics. Wildenau also had an archive, a library and the Ahamer family hall.
