The Trachtenkapelle Kirchheim im Innkreis was founded in 1879 by Josef Kindhammer from Kraxenberg as a fire brigade band. The band undertook to accompany the fire brigade with its music during parades. The instruments were purchased by the municipality and from donations. The sheet music was paid for through proceeds from funerals, theatre performances and waltz evenings.

Youth work 🎶
Youth work is an important concern for the Trachtenkapelle Kirchheim. The musicians receive their training from the regional music school or private teachers.

Board of Directors
In an association, there are many tasks to fulfil in addition to making music.
The public often only recognises the activities of the chairman, bandleader and baton leader.

However, there is a whole team that takes care of the fate of the Trachtenkapelle; from proper cash management and record keeping to the archiving of clothing, sheet music and instruments, this also includes media and youth work.

A board is elected every three years to take care of these matters.
In 2021, it was that time again at the Trachtenkapelle's general assembly.

New Year's blowing 🎼🧨🎺🥂
The New Year's blowing is a tradition of the Trachtenkapelle. It began shortly after the Second World War.

The information sheet "Vorwärts" has been distributed since 2004.
It contains reports on the past year. It is a small thank-you to the local population for their support.
