In order to fulfil its educational mandate, the Chamber of Labour for Upper Austria operates an adult education centre that should be accessible to as many Upper Austrians as possible. Our programme aims to be both needs-oriented and needs-meeting. We judge our work to be successful if it is recognisably committed to the following educational goals - knowing that these goals are ideal types:

In terms of a holistic approach to education, we take into account the variety of people's interests and needs.

Education is a prerequisite for democracy
It promotes an understanding of social conditions and the ability to act politically to improve people's working and living conditions. Democracy, openness towards fellow human beings and other cultures, solidarity and social justice are important educational goals.

Learning is a social experience for different people and social groups. The adult education centre is a place where teachers and learners meet.

Cultural and artistic education and creative leisure activities contribute to individual quality of life and a democratic leisure society.
