The original idea was to entertain patients and colleagues with a performance once a year. The ensemble became increasingly popular. The hospital's own ballroom soon became too small and the theatre group began using the newly built Sparkassen Stadtsaal on Kirchenplatz in 2001. After 25 years, the hospital theatre still exists and can look back on many successful productions. While long-serving actors have retired, it has always been possible to find new ensemble members from all professional groups in the hospital. The theatre group continues to strive to keep the quality of each performance as high as possible.
