The basic idea for this club was born in the summer of 1998 at the Opel meeting in Klagenfurt, where we decided to equip our vehicles with Opel IG Geinberg stickers beforehand.

In the "relaxed" atmosphere in Klagenfurt, we then realised that a "real" existing club would not be a mistake either, but this was to take another year or so.

At the beginning of the 2000 season, the time had finally come. Thanks to a steadily increasing number of members, the Opel IG mission could be tackled.
