The HTL Ried is a traditional mechanical engineering HTL, where students are trained in the areas of production technology/lightweight construction and agricultural and environmental technology. Classical mechanical engineering is also taught at the evening school for professionals, here with a focus on automation technology. Compared to other HTLs, HTL Ried is a small school. This results in a familiar school atmosphere and has the advantage that students in their first year settle into their new school community quickly and without any problems.

HTL Ried endeavours to provide its graduates with the best possible tools for starting their careers or studies by offering a practical yet theoretically sound education. As early as the first year, the foundation for this is laid in a way that is unique in Austria, in that part of the workshop lessons in the basic training takes place directly in the supporting companies of the Förderverein. In this way, the students see very early on how theory is put into practice.
