The Liedertafel 1846 Ried is the oldest club in the town of Ried and probably one of the oldest clubs in Austria. Originally founded as a male choir, the Liedertafel has been a mixed choir for around 100 years. The Liedertafel's repertoire covers all areas of choral music, which is constantly being expanded under choirmaster Dr Christian Mayrhofer. From sacred music to madrigal choirs, from folk music to pop and jazz, everything is sung that the choir members enjoy. The "Rieder Advent" on the Saturday before Christmas and the spring concert in May are concertante fixtures in the year. Masses are also organised and the choir also enjoys singing at events on invitation. With an annual choir outing, the joint Cäcilien celebration and a barbecue, socialising is not neglected either. The approximately 40 active members meet every Thursday at 7.30 pm for rehearsals in the new clubhouse in the music school (entrance Schwimmbadstraße15 basement). The choir also takes a break during the school holidays. A showcase at the "Dim-Eck" in the centre of Ried provides up-to-date information about the choir's activities. The choir is always happy to welcome new members! If you enjoy singing, you are very welcome to join us
