Braunauer Gate

Ried im Innkreis, Oberösterreich, Österreich

For a long time, this gate was the only exit to the west.

The Braunau Gate and the Schärding Gate are the only surviving structures of the fortifications. The Linz Gate was demolished in the 19th century.
The market wall was already destroyed during the War of the Spanish Succession (1704), the moats in front of the gates and walls were filled in in the 18th century.
