Ried has a unique historical town complex thanks to the row of four squares that are connected by alleys. The famous Schwanthaler family of sculptors was artistically active here for more than two centuries. The museum also owns the famous "Silent Night! Holy Night!" nativity scene, in front of which the famous Christmas carol was played for the first time in 1818.
