The Haslauer Hof has been run organically since 2019 and is located in the beautiful pilgrimage town of Maria Schmolln. Elisabeth Moser and Mark Grabner are personally committed to providing their customers with high-quality products. The welfare of the animals and species-appropriate husbandry are also very important to both of them.
They keep organic laying hens, organic wild chickens and forest sheep. All of their animals have access to their pastures at all times during the day.
The forest sheep is not a typical meat breed, but an original, old breed. The animals do not receive any concentrated feed, but only fresh pasture grass, hay and mother's milk for as long as they need it. As a result, the meat of their lambs is very fine-fibred and unique in flavour - there is a complete lack of 'bloat'.
The Wildhendl have plenty of room to move and are fed exclusively with good organic feed. They take a little longer to grow than conventional fattened chicken, which of course also has an effect on the quality of the meat. The meat is very juicy and slightly darker in colour.
